ROUTE 05 MTB CENTER SERRA DO PISCO

It shares the same route as Route 3 "Megalithic" until we reach the bridge that crosses the Salas reservoir, where we continue to the right towards the village of Guntumil.

We leave behind this small village of barely 150 inhabitants to begin a long ascent along a wide track in perfect conditions that, little by little, gains height until we reach the Refugio do Pisco, at an altitude of 1,395 meters. From here there is a good opportunity to contemplate a wide panoramic view of the Salas Valley.

We start the descent towards Portela de Pitões, in the middle of the border between Galicia and Portugal, marked by a stone frame that indicates the border between both countries, a territory dominated by the old smugglers and that today offers a spectacular view of the Gerês-Xurés Cross-Border Park, which comprises almost 90,000 hectares of protected territory in both countries.

We arrive at the village of Requiás, where we recommend visiting its communal oven, before returning to the bridge over the reservoir to cross it in the direction of As Maus de Salas and share the last kilometers along the same route of Routes 3 and 4.
